Become a Friend of St. Cassian's

In 1975 Brother Damian Lundy’s vision led to the establishment of St. Cassian's Centre. It was pioneering work and has become a model for retreat centres in the UK and elsewhere. It is in a beautiful setting and offers young people an opportunity to find some space and time away from the hustle and bustle of life in the 21st century. Most importantly it provides a place in which teenagers from all backgrounds can reflect on their lives, find some direction and receive positive feedback about who they are. For some this will be the first time they are affirmed as individuals. They are invited to find the place of God in their lives – it can be a life-changing experience. The Centre is a Catholic foundation but is open to all. No one who comes ever forgets the experience and many come back again, growing in confidence and finding purpose in their lives.

Since its foundation this has been possible through the generosity of the De La Salle Brothers, an Order of lay Brothers whose mission is to inspire and educate young people who have been able to come to the Centre at minimal cost to enjoy a life-enriching experience. This is growing increasingly difficult for the Brothers and so the Centre needs to secure its own financial independence.
